Baseball darts
Baseball darts borrows the structure of a baseball game: nine innings, and the highest score wins. In each inning, everyone throws at the number that matches the inning. It is easy to learn, keeps every player involved and rewards steady accuracy on the lower numbers of the board.

- A dartboard (steel tip or soft tip) and 3 darts per player.
Rules
Setup
- The game is played over 9 innings.
- All players start on zero and take turns, three darts each.
How to play
- In inning 1, aim for the 1. In inning 2, aim for the 2, and so on up to inning 9.
- Only darts that land in the inning number score.
- Add the points from each visit to your total.
Scoring
- Every dart in the inning number scores its value: in inning 5, a single is worth 5, a double 10 and a treble 15.
- The most you can score in one inning is three trebles: 81 points in inning 9.
Winning
The player with the most points after the ninth inning wins.
Tips
- The numbers 1 to 9 are spread all over the board, so reset your aim for each inning.
- The late innings are worth far more than the early ones: that is where a treble makes the difference.
Variants
- Counting runs: a single is 1 run, a double 2 and a treble 3, whatever the number.
- Extra innings: if players are tied after 9 innings, keep playing on the 10, 11 and so on until someone leads.
