Branch
A fallen branch, a living world.
The site, live
The real site, inside the frame: scroll it to explore. Move off the frame to carry on reading this page.

Highlights
Revealed by touch
Life only shows where you look. The cursor, or the finger, lights up the branch, and the trail fades behind it.
A descent, not a page
The story unfolds as you scroll, from the wide shot of the branch down to the few centimetres where everything happens.
Three inhabitants
Mosses, fungi, insects. Shelter, transformation, habitat: three worlds, three words.
Nothing lands at once
Each section is revealed as it enters the frame, never in one block.
Two typographic voices
Cormorant Garamond for the story, Inter for everything else.
The same story on a phone
Touch reading gets its own words: "Touch to reveal" replaces the desktop invitation.
Questions
- Are the images real?
- No. The imagery is AI generated, and the site says so in its own footer. The subject matter draws on the ONF resources about dead wood.
- What language is the site in?
- English.
- Does the site work on a phone?
- Yes. The preview on this page only loads from a desktop screen: a desktop site shrunk onto a phone would no longer read.
