How to play Mexico — dice game rules
Mexicali, Mexican
Mexico is a two-dice bar game where you announce your roll without showing it. The next player has to believe you and beat it, or lift the cup: a caught lie costs a life.

- 2 standard dice + 1 cup.
Rules
How to play
Each player rolls 2 dice under a cup. The first player looks at their dice (without showing) and announces their result — they can lie! The next player must either believe and do better, or challenge.
Ranking
- Mexico (2-1) is the best combination.
- Then doubles: 6-6, 5-5, 4-4, 3-3, 2-2, 1-1.
- Then normal combinations: 6-5, 6-4, 6-3... down to 3-1 (worst).
Winning
A player caught lying loses a life. Last one standing wins.

- How do you read a roll in Mexico?
- Put the highest die first: a 3 and a 5 make 53. Doubles beat every plain roll, and 2-1 beats everything.
- Is Mexico the same as Mäxchen?
- Same idea. German Mäxchen requires matching or beating the previous call and passes the cup around; Mexico is often played in rounds with lives.
- How many lives do you start with?
- Usually 3 to 6 lives or tokens each. The last player still in wins.
