Legs darts rules

Legs

Legs turns scoring on its head. Everyone adds up their darts towards a target score, but reaching it exactly is a trap: the player who lands on the target loses a life and starts again from zero. Going over the target is a bust. The result is a tense game of control where you want to creep close without ever getting caught.

Rules

Setup

  • Agree on a target score and a number of lives for every player.
  • All players start on zero and take turns, three darts each.

How to play

  • Throw three darts anywhere on the board and add the visit to your total.
  • If your new total is below the target, it stands.
  • If your new total goes over the target, the visit is a bust and your score does not change.
  • If your new total equals the target exactly, you lose a life and your score resets to zero.

Scoring

  • Every dart scores its normal value, including doubles, trebles and the bull.
  • A player with no lives left is eliminated.

Winning

The last player with lives remaining wins.

Tips

  • Close to the target, low numbers such as 1, 5 and 3 help you avoid landing on it by accident.
  • Sometimes a bust is the best result you can get: it keeps your score where it is.
