Sudden Death darts rules
Knockout
Sudden Death is a knockout game that works brilliantly with a big group. Everyone throws one visit per round and the lowest score is eliminated. There are no complicated targets, just pure scoring pressure that builds as the field shrinks.

- What you need
- A dartboard (steel tip or soft tip) and 3 darts per player.

Setup
- All players start in the game.
- Each player throws three darts per round.
How to play
- Every player throws one visit of three darts at any part of the board.
- At the end of the round, compare the scores of that round only.
- The player with the lowest score for the round is eliminated.
- Start a new round with the remaining players.
Scoring
- Every dart scores its normal value, including doubles, trebles and the bull.
- If two or more players are tied for the lowest score, nobody is eliminated that round.
Winning
The last player remaining wins.
Tips
- Throwing late in the round is an advantage: you know exactly what score you need to survive.
- When you only need a small score, aim for the big single 20 area instead of risking a treble.
What happens on a tie in Sudden Death?
If several players share the lowest score of the round, nobody is knocked out and a new round begins.
How many players for Sudden Death?
At least 3, and up to 10 in Bead. The bigger the group, the bigger the tension.
Do scores carry over between rounds?
No, only the current round's visit counts. Everyone starts level again each round.
